Privacy Policy

FoodCostCalculators.com ("we," "us," "this site") publishes free food-business cost calculators. This page explains what data we collect, why, and the choices you have — in plain language, not legal boilerplate.
The short version
- Every calculator runs entirely in your browser. The numbers you type into a calculator are never sent to us or stored anywhere unless you explicitly choose to save them on your own device.
- We don't require an account, login, or email address to use any calculator.
- We use cookies for basic site functionality and, only with your consent, to support advertising through Google AdSense.
- If you submit the Contact form, that message (and the info you typed into it) is stored so we can respond to you.
Information you give us directly
Calculator inputs
Recipe costs, ingredient prices, margins, and every other number you enter into a calculator are processed locally in your browser using JavaScript. They are not transmitted to our servers. If a calculator offers a "save on this device" feature, that data is stored in your browser's local storage only — it stays on your device and we never receive a copy of it.
Contact form
If you use the Contact page, the name, email address, and message you submit are sent through a server-side function and stored in our database (hosted on Supabase) so we can read and reply to you. We do not use this information for marketing, and we do not sell or share it with third parties except the infrastructure providers (Supabase, Cloudflare) that host the form and its data. We do not operate a mailing list or newsletter, and submitting the Contact form does not sign you up for anything.
Cookies
A cookie consent banner appears the first time you visit. Your choice (accepted or declined) is remembered in your browser's local storage so you're not asked again on every page. We use cookies for two purposes:
- Essential functionality — remembering your cookie choice and any local "hide help text" or "saved on this device" preferences you set inside a calculator. These don't require consent because the site can't function correctly without them.
- Advertising (Google AdSense) — only if you accept cookies, and only once we begin serving ads. See the next section.
Google AdSense & advertising cookies
You can opt out of personalized advertising by Google by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of third-party vendor use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info. Declining cookies in our consent banner prevents advertising cookies from being set on this site in the first place.
Other service providers
We rely on a small number of infrastructure providers to run this site:
- Cloudflare — hosting, content delivery, and the server-side function that processes the Contact form. Cloudflare may log standard request data (like IP address) for security and performance purposes, per Cloudflare's own privacy policy.
- Supabase — stores Contact form submissions in a database. Only submitted messages are stored; calculator inputs are never sent here.
- Google AdSense — advertising, described above.
Your choices
- Decline the cookie banner at any time to prevent advertising cookies.
- Clear your browser's local storage to remove any saved calculator data or saved consent choice.
- Contact us (see below) to ask what Contact-form data we hold about you, or to request it be deleted.
Children's privacy
This site is intended for business owners and operators and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes — for example, when AdSense goes live or if we add a new service provider — we'll update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
